Thoracic surgery
Thoracic surgery is a speciality that covers all organs contained or crossing the thorax (except the heart and major blood vessels): lungs, pleura, trachea, bronchi, mediastinum and chest wall (sternum and ribs).
This speciality is covered by 2 thoracic surgeons who handle the following main procedures:
- Cancer and lung surgery.
- Surgery for non-cancerous pathologies of the digestive tract.
- Pleural surgery.
- Mediastinal surgery.
- Surgery of the oesophagus.
The surgeons work in close collaboration with the Follow-up and Rehabilitation Care (FRC) department for pre/post-surgery rehabilitation.
Surgeons work in close collaboration with the team of physiotherapists working at the Rhéna clinic.
The Rhéna clinic has oncology authorisation for thoracic surgery.
