The fixed contribution

Since the 1st of September 2006, a fixed contribution of € 18 must be paid for each hospitalisation in all public and private health establishments, for procedures whose price is equal to or greater than € 120, or those with a coefficient equal to 60 . It replaces the user fees in these cases. Some patients may be exempt from this payment, such as patients with long-term illnesses and pregnant women.

This fixed sum, payable by the insured person or the complementary insurer, is paid by the institution to the Health Insurance Provider.
