Hospital fees

Since the 1st of January 2014, the hospital fee, set by ministerial order, is €18 per day.    It represents the patient’s financial contribution to the accommodation costs of hospitalisation. It is payable for any stay of more than 24 hours in a public or private hospital.    It is payable for each day of hospitalisation, including the day of discharge.

This fixed sum, payable by the insured person or the complementary insurer, is paid by the institution to the Health Insurance Provider.
